Dr. Ronald Vincent Glauser was born on November 23, 1935 at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston. His parents were Claudia and Harry Glauser. The Glausers represent one of the pioneer families of St. Thomas High School dating back to 1906. Ronnie's brothers Harry, Jr. '35, Jack '40, and George '47, his father Harry, Sr. '08 and Uncle William '06 along with his brother-in-law, Billy Welu '50 all graduated from St. Thomas.
Prior to entering high school in the fall of 1950, Ronnie received his grammar school education at St. Anne Catholic School. While attending St. Thomas, he exhibited his leadership skills by serving on the student council; academic accomplishments include membership in the St. Thomas Club; athletic involvement included track and being a prominent player on the football team. HIs education continued at the University of Texas Dental School in Houston in 1962. Following his graduation from dental school, Dr. Glauser served his country as a Captain in the United States Army Dental Corps for two years at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. After this tour of duty , he established a dental practice in Houston, at whih he is still active. His daughters, Gloria, a Dental Hyeienist and Alicia, office manager, assist him in his practice.
Ronnie's community involvement includes appointments to the St. Joseph Hospital Foundation Board and the St. Thomas High School Foundation Board of which he is a past president. He has been active in fund raising for St. Thomas for over 30 years. Since establishing his practice in 1964, Ronnie has performed dental services for the San Jose Dental Clinic and has contributed free dental work to mumerous nuns and priest. For his service to our community, a scholarship has been established at the University of Texas Dental Branch, Houston, to provide financial aid to dental students.
Ronnie is married to Patricia Welu, who graduated from St. Agnes Academy in 1953. In addition to the two daughters, Ronnie and Pat have two sons, Vince '84, and William '90, both graduates of St. Thomas.
