Rev. Kevin Storey, C.S.B., was officially installed as the President of St. Thomas High School on Wednesday morning by Very Rev. George Smith, C.S.B., Superior General of the Basilian Fathers.  The installation took place during Mass on the feast of the Assumption of Mary.  Storey Mass_Inside

Smith celebrated the Mass with Storey concelebrating.  Other concelebrants included Rev. Patrick Fulton, C.S.B., Principal of St. Thomas High School, Rev. Robert Glass, C.S.B., Superior of the Basilian community at STH, Rev. Al Gaelens, C.S.B., Rev. James Murphy, C.S.B., as well as special guest Rev. Tom Rafferty, who currently serves as the pastor of St. Anthony of Padua.  He is a St. Thomas alumnus, having graduated in 1975.  Also in attendance at Mass were Storey’s parents, Ivan and Loretta, as well as his brothers, Les and Keith, his sister, Mary Holt, her husband, Peter, and his niece, Rachel.

“Having my family come down from Toronto to participate was extremely special to me,” Storey said. “I have been helped by their love, encouragement and support and am very pleased that I could share this special day with them.”

Following Storey’s installation, Smith asked the members of the Basilian community to formally re-dedicate themselves to education at St. Thomas High School.  The faculty and staff were then asked by Smith if they were willing to re-dedicate themselves to education and development.  Finally, the students were asked by Fulton to re-dedicate themselves as well.

“There is always a sense of community at any St. Thomas event,” Storey said. “The re-dedication by everyone in attendance shows their commitment to our educational endeavors.”
