The St. Thomas High School Admissions Office offers many opportunities for students and families to learn, explore, connect, and experience St. Thomas High School through Campus Tours, Open House, and more. We look forward to hosting you on our campus!

GROUP CAMPUS TOURS

Group Campus Tours focus on showcasing our college prep atmosphere, teacher interactions, and helping you find the best fit for your son. During the tour, you will experience a real-time freshman class, learn about our STEM facilities, explore our athletics programs, and connect with our award-winning faculty and students. Tours will be 90 minutes and are limited to 8 families. Please note that appointment times may vary based on the school schedule.

Group Campus Tours are scheduled to begin in November. They are designed for current middle school (6th, 7th, & 8th) and transfer students.

FAMILY TOURS AND INFORMATION SESSIONS

One of our admissions team members will be waiting for you and your family outside of the Main Office in Clay-Storey Hall to take you on a comprehensive guided tour of our campus. Experience the college preparatory atmosphere at St. Thomas High School with a focus on your son’s interests.

Campus tours are approximately 90 minutes in duration on most Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in the morning and afternoon. This tour will give your family an excellent insight into what St. Thomas High School has to offer for your son’s future.

Family Tours are designed for current 8th grade families.

SHADOW VISITS

Prospective freshman students will have the opportunity to experience and learn about what life is like at St. Thomas High School through our Eagle Ambassadors. During the shadow visit, prospective students will connect and learn about life at St. Thomas High School, meet our excellent faculty and staff, experience student life, and learn first-hand why St. Thomas High School is Houston’s premier all-male college preparatory high school.

Shadow visits are scheduled to begin in November. They are designed for current 8th grade students.

*The Admissions Department will pair prospective students and Eagle Ambassadors with similar interests. If a prospective student would like to shadow a specific St. Thomas High School student, please include the current student’s name in the registration form.

JOIN US FOR OPEN HOUSE
Sunday, December 8, 2024

St. Thomas High School invites prospective families to our Open House to explore Houston’s premier all-male college preparatory school. Come and experience our comprehensive curriculum, vision for education, and beautiful campus in person. Meet our faculty, connect with athletic teams, clubs, and fine arts, and tour our facilities.

Sunday, December 8, 2024, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Mass, 11:30 am – 12:30 pm (Optional): We invite all families, regardless of religious affiliation, to join us for Mass before Open House. Experience our warm community and the positive impact of our Catholic faith.

END ZONE RALLY
Friday, October 4, 2023

Join us for the End Zone Rally, where middle school students and families can get to know the St. Thomas community. Watch the Eagle Football team take on Central Catholic High School from the Granger Stadium’s end zone. You will have the chance to meet administrators, faculty, staff, and current families. The event starts at 6:00 pm with check-in, and the kick-off is at 7:00 pm. Come and enjoy an evening of fun, football, and food!

End Zone Rally is designed for current middle school (6th, 7th, & 8th) and transfer students.

COFFEE WITH THE LEADERSHIP OF ST. THOMAS HIGH SCHOOL
September – November 2024

Coffee with the Leadership of St. Thomas High School: Current 8th-grade parents are cordially invited to enjoy coffee and conversation with Father Jim Murphy and Dr. Aaron Dominguez. Reserve a date to hear our leaders discuss St. Thomas High School’s vision and how we will guide your son to reach his full potential. Each event has limited reservations to allow for intimate conversations and fellowship. Following Coffee with the Leadership, student ambassadors led an optional 45-minute group tour of St. Thomas High School. Each event starts at 8:30 AM and ends with the tour at 9:30 AM. Each session will accommodate a limited number of 8th grade parents.

OPEN SCHOOL PREVIEW
Thursday, October 3 & Friday, November 8, 2024

Open School Preview is an opportunity for students to visit St. Thomas High School Campus during a school day but whose middle schools do not schedule a campus visit. Tour the campus, learn about the unique opportunities, enjoy lunch with our student population, and envision yourself as a student in the Class of 2028.

Open School Preview is designed for 8th grade students who do not attend a traditional high school visit with their school.

FALL THEATER PRODUCTION

Here is a one-night opportunity for all incoming thespians to go behind the curtain and explore this year’s Fall Theater Production of Wyrd Sisters based on the book by Terry Pratchett. Be a member of the backstage excitement and watch the preparation and dedication it takes to bring talent, time, and fun to a St. Thomas performance. Then sit in the audience with your family and watch the magic unfold as our Eagles perform.

The Fall Theater Production is designed for current middle school (6th, 7th, & 8th) and transfer students.

HOT ART COOL JAZZ

Hot Art Cool Jazz is an annual event hosted by the St. Thomas High School Fine Arts Department. Enjoy performances from The Eagle Jazz Band and St. Thomas Singers while browsing the extraordinary talents of Eagle artists in the mediums of clay, drawing, and digital art.

Hot Art Cool Jazz is designed for current middle school (6th, 7th, & 8th) and transfer students.

S.T.E.A.M. ACADEMIC NIGHT
Wednesday, November 6, 2024

S.T.E.A.M. Academic Night allows middle school students to explore and partake in hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics activities in our state-of-the-art science facilities. This is a fantastic opportunity for your son to learn about S.T.E.A.M. and see firsthand how St. Thomas High School encourages curiosity and learning in these academic areas.

We will have a light dinner for the students from 5:30 – 6:00 PM, with the S.T.E.A.M. activities beginning at 6:00 – 7:30 PM.
