High School Summer Programs
Original Credit & Credit Recovery
St. Thomas High School Original Credit classes are courses designed for STH students who want to earn credits toward graduation by taking a class for the first time. These courses are ideal for students who wish to:
- Get ahead in their coursework
- Fulfill graduation requirements
- Explore subjects of interest
Original Credit classes can only be taken during the summer through in-person or blended learning formats, depending on the course. These courses follow the St. Thomas High School curriculum standards and include Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Business Applications (formerly Computer Applications), Business Communications (formerly Speech), and Physical Education with Health.

St. Thomas High School Credit Recovery courses are offered for Houston area Catholic High School students (co-ed) who have failed a high school course during the previous academic year and need to retake it to earn academic credit. These courses may also be taken by STH students who received a D during the regular semester and seek to improve their grade. These classes provide an opportunity for students to stay on track for graduation by demonstrating mastery of the required material in a structured and supportive environment. Credit recovery programs help students regain confidence, improve their academic standing, and progress toward graduation.
