Sophomore Retreat

Take Up Your Cross

Camp Cho-Yeh: January 9-10, 2025

“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul?”

Students, like Job in the Old Testament, will grapple with the profound reality of suffering. Through their journey, they will discover answers in the grandeur of God’s compassion by delving into the mystery of Christ’s Passion. Just as Jesus went into the wilderness to prepare for the challenges of His ministry, our young men will strengthen their bonds of brotherhood through physically demanding activities. Ultimately, they will come to understand that only through self-denial can they rise with Jesus Christ.

During the retreat, students will build and sleep in tents. If you have your own tent, you are welcome to bring it, offering your House additional sleeping space.
